Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine generated most antibodies in study

In a comparative study, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine evoked the strongest immune response among the four vaccines tested. The study noted that people who received Sinopharm’s vaccine may be particularly vulnerable to a breakthrough infection.

The study published in the journal Cell Host and Microbe noted that the Sinopharm and Sputnik V vaccines evoked relatively low antibody concentrations, the AstraZeneca vaccine stimulated intermediate levels of antibodies, and the highest levels were noted for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The study, conducted in the month of July, included 196 fully-vaccinated individuals in Mongolia, where all four vaccines were used. It noted that people who had received the Sinopharm vaccine, accounting for 89.2% of the vaccinated adults in Mongolia then, and those who received the AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines, could be vulnerable to develop breakthrough COVID infections… (ET Healthworld – Bloomberg, November 15, 2021)
