India administers over 115 crores, 82 percent receives first dose: Health Ministry

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that India had administered more than 115.23 crores of total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. About 82% of the eligible population in India has received the first dose of the vaccine, while more than 41% has been fully vaccinated.

On a happy note of crossing the 115 crore vaccine mark, he said that India is strengthening its protection through daily vaccination and remembered PM Narendra Modi Ji′s words where he encouraged the world’s largest vaccination drive in India and stated that once Indians decide to do something, nothing is impossible.

The age group of 18-44  and 45-59 covered a maximum of over 61 crore doses. States and UTs have received over 129 crore doses from the central government, and through direct procurement, 22.66 crores were still unutilized.

India’s current recovery rate is at 98.28%, which is the highest since March 2020. Presenty, the daily positivity rate is 0.98 %, while the weekly positivity rate dropped slightlyto 0.92 percent.
