U.S. regulators have expanded the eligibility for COVID booster shots to all adults, thus allowing millions of more US residents to get added protection against the coronavirus.

Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, endorsed the expanded eligibility after the US Food and Drug Administration expanded the authorization of COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to all adults at least six months after they had received their second dose of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine. Walensky stated that booster jabs have been found to safely enhance protection against coronavirus infection and severe outcomes.
