Coronavirus cases in children rise by 32% from two weeks ago, says American Academy of Pediatrics

COVID-19 cases among children in the United States have increased by 32% compared to the figures two weeks ago, suggest new data published by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

For the week ending November 18, about 141,905 new COVID-19 infections were reported among children. Kids represented over one-fourth of all new cases during the past week. Cases for every age group have shown an upward trend in the recent week. While the cases declined quickly after a summer surge, they began rising again and have now reached the levels last seen in the month of August. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that this was not unexpected… (CNN, November 22, 2021)
