According to an analysis of English data done by the UK Health Security Agency, COVID-19 vaccines appear to be safe in pregnancy. The rates of stillbirths and preterm births were found to be similar among vaccinated and unvaccinated women.

According to the analysis, only 22% of women who gave birth in August had received at least one vaccine dose. The agency noted that from January through August, the stillbirth rate was around 3.35 per 1,000 vaccinated women and 3.6 per 1,000 unvaccinated women. The rate of low birth weight babies was 5.28% for vaccinated and 5.36% for unvaccinated women. Additionally, the rate of premature births was 6.51% among vaccinated and 5.99% among unvaccinated women.
