Vaccination for Children with Comorbidities to Start in December: COVID Task Force Head

Vaccination against COVID-19 for children with comorbidities will start in the month of December and the vaccine rollout for healthy children will begin around the first quarter of 2022, Dr NK Arora, chairman of India’s COVID Task Force, told NDTV. 

Dr Arora also said that efforts are on to reduce the number of doses of ZyCoV-D from three to two. He added that similar to the vaccination rollout in adults, a prioritization process will be in place for children as well and a list of comorbidities is being prepared.

Dr Arora said that vaccination among children will be done in a stepwise fashion and by the latter half of December, pediatric vaccination for priority children may begin… (NDTV, November 30, 2021)
