HIV continues to be a leading public health problem globally, affecting millions of people. Despite the progress made in recent years in tackling this global health crisis, the significant targets for 2020 could not be met.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been tied to inequities and disrupted services, thus making access to care more difficult for people living with HIV. This World AIDS Day, on December 1, the World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners are emphasizing on reaching the people who have been left behind and are focusing on the inequalities in access to essential HIV services.
The theme of World AIDS Day 2021 is “End inequalities. End AIDS”. The WHO calls on global leaders and people of the world to reach those who are unable to receive the required HIV services… (WHO)
