WHO urges vulnerable people to delay travel if not fully vaccinated

The World Health Organization has urged people who are not well or are vulnerable to delay travel if they are not fully vaccinated.

The latest travel advisory from WHO includes in this category individuals above 60 years of age and those who have underlying conditions like heart disease, cancer and diabetes. An earlier statement from the health agency had advised against all travel for this population group. The updated version clarifies that only people who are more vulnerable and have not been fully vaccinated should delay travel plans.

The agency also stated that blanket travel bans do not prevent the spread of the new variant. The agency said, "Blanket travel bans will not prevent the international spread, and they place a heavy burden on lives and livelihoods."… (BBC, December 1, 2021)
