Multivitamins, paracetamol only treatment given to Omicron patients at hospital in Delhi

Omicron patients at Delhis Lok Nayak hospital have been given only multivitamins and paracetamol as treatment thus far, said doctors.

The hospital has reported 40 Omicron cases till now, of which 19 have already been discharged. A senior doctor said that nearly 90% of the patients are asymptotic while the remaining have had mild symptoms, including sore throat, low-grade fever and body ache. He added that the treatment has included multivitamins and paracetamol only and they have not felt the need to give any other treatment.

Most of these patients tested COVID-positive at the airport upon arrival from foreign nations and most of them are fully vaccinated. Three or four of them have even had boosters, said the doctor.

Since December 22, samples of all COVID-19 patients in Delhi are being subjected to genome sequencing in order to determine whether Omicron has spread in the community… (ET Healthworld – PTI, December 24, 2021)
