69% of 60 plus, 73% of people aged 45-59 fully vaccinated in India

The year 2021 ended for India short of the target of fully vaccinating the entire adult population by year-end. However, more than 90% of the eligible population has received one vaccine dose and about 64% have received both doses, as per data updated at 7 pm on Friday. 

Himachal Pradesh is the only state to have fully vaccinated the entire eligible population. Punjab, on the other hand, has the least number of fully-vaccinated people, at a little over 40%. Overall, more than 145 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered thus far.

About 69% of people aged above 60 years have been fully vaccinated and nearly 73% of those aged between 45 and 59 years have been fully vaccinated. Slightly more than 55% of the people in 18-44 years age group have been fully vaccinated… (ET Healthworld – TNN, January 1, 2022)
