Over 1 crore teenagers receive COVID-19 vaccine in India

Over 1 crore teens aged 15-17 years have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in India as of January 5, suggest data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

About 40,80,263 teenagers were administered the vaccine in a span of 24 hours. The overall vaccination coverage among 15-17-year-olds stood at 1,27,60,148. The top five states to have administered maximum number of doses to teens include Madhya Pradesh (16,52,309), Gujarat (13,63,147), Andhra Pradesh (13,02,027), Rajasthan (11,82,158), and Karnataka (11,21,569).
