  • The landscape of interventional cardiology is evolving rapidly. While transcatheter aortic valve replacement has become the standard of care, the therapy is rapidly engaging other valves as well.
  • Existing transcatheter options include transcatheter mitral valve replacement using repurposed aortic bioprosthesis (Sapien, Myval), transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement using aortic bioprosthesis or dedicated pulmonary prothesis (Melody, Venus P), and transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement using caval valve implantation (Tric-valve) or aortic bioprosthesis in degenerated valve-in-valve or valve-in-ring.
  • Other valve therapies are at various stages of development and are expected to be commercially available in India in the next few years.
