Home-Based Physical Activity to Decrease Cancer Fatigue

A meta-analysis published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise suggests that low to moderate physical activity done at home can help reduce fatigue in cancer survivors whose treatment is complete. 

Eleven studies involving 1066 cancer survivors, mostly women with breast cancer history, were included in the meta-analysis. Home-based physical activity was found to improve fatigue for up to 9 months following the intervention, especially when it was assisted by frequent counseling. Researchers noted that adherence to the intervention was high and self-reported physical activity appeared to increase with time.
