World Cancer Day, observed each year on February 4, is a global initiative by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). The day aims to raise awareness globally, improve education and promote action at the individual and the government levels, to develop a world where millions of cancer deaths can be prevented. It also aims to promote equitable access to life-saving cancer treatment and care for all.
