Exercise after Getting COVID-19 Vaccine Boosts Antibodies: Study

A new study published in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity suggests that mild- to moderate-intensity exercise for 90 minutes after getting a flu or a COVID-19 vaccine may boost the antibody levels.

 

The study revealed that participants who cycled on a stationary bike or took a brisk walk for an hour-and-a-half after receiving a jab developed more antibodies over the next four weeks compared to people who did not exercise.

 

In all, 36 individuals who had received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from March through June 2021 were recruited in the study. Twenty eight individuals were enrolled in the trivalent seasonal influenza vaccine experiment. Besides the 90-minute duration, the investigators also evaluated if participants could get the same increase in antibodies with just 45 minutes of exercising. However, the shorter workout period did not increase the antibody levels… (NDTV – PTI, February 15, 2022)
