Britain is set to offer COVID-19 vaccines to all children aged 5-11 years, widening the vaccine rollout among children.

Health minister Sajid Javid announced the decision and stated that he had accepted advice from experts that vaccinating young children would help in protecting against future waves. Britain has thus far offered COVID-19 vaccination to vulnerable children, and has been slower than some of the other countries, like the United States, Canada, Ireland and Israel, in widening the eligibility for the shots to all 5- to 11-year-olds. Javid said that preparations for the vaccine rollout were advacing within the National Health Service (NHS) and the offer will be extended to all children during April… (Reuters, February 16, 2022)
