COVID-19 vaccines not tied to deaths: U.S. study

According to a major study of vaccine side-effects in the United States, there appears to be no link between two COVID-19 shots and the number of deaths recorded after vaccination.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that 92% of the reported side-effects following the administration of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines were mild. Around 4,500 people died after being vaccinated in the country till June 2021. There were no unusual patterns in the data that might point to a link between the deaths and the vaccines.

Researchers assessed the adverse events from around 300 million vaccine doses administered in the country from December 2020 through June 2021. Of the 4,500 deaths recorded in the six months to June 2021, over 80% were among people aged 60 years and above… (BBC, March 8, 2022)
