New COVID-19 cases continued to drop in India for the ninth week in a row, with the country reporting a little over 11,400 cases in the week ending Sunday (March 21-27). This figure is 28% less than the previous week′s tally of 15,820.

Also, this was the lowest weekly count since the week of April 20-26, 2020, when 10,585 new cases were logged. Active cases have also shown a steady decline since the peak of the third wave on January 23, 2022. At present, the country has around 15,800 active COVID-19 cases, the lowest count since April 21, 2020.
