While several states indicated flattening of their Covid curve, the fall has slowed down in Delhi, Haryana, and Gujarat. Though the death toll from the virus has steeply fallen in the data recorded last week (April 4-10) with the national capital reporting only 1 death till Sunday i.e., April 10 with the numbers from other states awaited.

7,100 new cases were reported nationwide with a 15% decline in cases reported in the previous weeks. These numbers were the lowest drop since April 6-12, 2020 from January 2022 when the third wave of the pandemic started declining.

New Delhi recorded a 26% rise in cases this week with a more 1% positivity rate in the past several days. The national capital recorded 943 cases, reversing the declining curve from 751 cases recorded last week. Haryana also saw a rise of 50% in fresh covid cases from 344 to 514 in the previous week. Gujarat on the other hand recorded a minor spike of 115 cases from a previous week’s baseline of 61 cases. Conclusively, the overall cases remain low in all the three states and could have been a result of the regional outbreak.

The curve has also seen a slow decline in other states such as Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra by 8%, 4%, and 12% respectively.
