Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune police station has booked a negligence case against Dr. Pradip Patil after three years after the death of Mrs. Manjusha S Bhagwat, 43.

A case was lodged at Wakad police station based on a complaint by Santosh T Bhagwat (48) husband of the deceased. According to the report, Mr. Santhosh works as a police constable in the special branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad police Commissionerate. On September 1, 2018, his wife Manjusha was admitted to Dr. Patil’s hospital. She was suffering from pneumonia but the complainant reported that Dr. Patil did not diagnose her properly. Dr. Patil stated that her blood platelet count from the blood test has reduced sharply and impulsively prescribed her treatment reign.

On September 4, 2018, after the patient’s condition turned worse, her husband shifted her to Thergaon hospital for further treatment. However, Manjusha breathed her last breath on September 5, 2018, while under treatment. The doctors declared pneumonia as her cause of death.

After investigating the case, the police have booked an FIR against Dr. Patil for an offense under section 304a of the Indian Penal Code.
