A study conducted a narrative review about physical exercise and Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by exploring literature with the keywords “COVID-19” and “physical exercise”, for the narrative review, and physical activity (PA), physical exercise, physical training, sport, physical fitness, for the systematic review.

This strategy assessed the dynamics of scientific information production for the pandemic. In two months, an increase of 76%, from 19.4% to 80.64% COVID-19 articles was seen.

Editorial articles (16.13%) and commentary (9.68%) were the main types of articles published. These scientific publications came mainly from the United States (12.90%), the United Kingdom (12.90%), and Brazil (11.29%). The year 2020 showed only 2 relevant randomized controlled trials on the COVID-19 topic in the context of physical exercise. Scientific information production reveals the concern of the PA science community to end up the physical inactivity brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

These findings reveal the dynamics of scientific production, in a unique situation like the COVID-19 pandemic, to describe the importance of practising PA for improving and/or maintaining physical and mental health.
