PCOS may reduce gut bacteria diversity

Women who have who have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) had the least diverse gut bacteria compared to women who did not have PCOS, according to a new study published January 23, 2018 in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Hyperandrogenism has been implicated in this alteration of gut microbiome in these women.
