Health Minister on Thursday stated that the nation will counter the ‘glaring anomalies’ in the death toll report released by WHO in an appropriate forum. Earlier, the ministry objected to the inappropriate methodology used by the global health regulator for sourcing data, collecting data, and mathematical modeling and statistical outcome calculation.

He also added that India has expressed their objection to the demonstrated numbers explaining that the methodology provided two different datasets for Tier 1 and Tier 2 countries. Despite the concern, WHO released the excess death toll senses without addressing the queries posed.

The ministry stated that they have informed WHO regarding the authentic data available in the Civil Registration System by the Registrar General of India and have written to the organization at least ten times since last November. He added that WHO should heed the fact that mortality rate and death toll numbers are sensitive topics and any hypothetical report can have multiple adverse effects.
