In the 75th World Health Assembly conducted in Geneva, our Union Health minister, Mansukh Mandaviya raised concern over the recent claim of WHO regarding all-cause mortality. He stated that it is a concerning and dismaying situation where WHO did not pay attention to mortality rates based on our country-specific authentic data published by a statutory authority.

He conveyed the collective disappointment of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare and exhorted the nation’s commitment to building a resilient Global Health Security structure. He also stressed the need to build a global supply chain to ensure equitable access to vaccines and medicines that can be achieved by streamlining the WHO’s approval process.

He also added that, as a responsible member of the Global community, India is ready to play crucial roles in these efforts and believes that this year’s theme “Peace & Health” is timely as there can be no sustainable development, well-being, and universal health without peace.
