Psoriasis skin inflammation impacts many systemic inflammatory disorders to worsen inflammatory reactions and initiate inflammatory diseases. Nearly all secondary inflammatory sites are influenced by the severity of psoriasis inflammation and systemic treatment, particularly biologics. Thus clinicians must evaluate the accurate inflammation degree and severity, to select the therapeutic option. Additionally, the knowledge of literature will facilitate them in evaluating systemic organ impacts before initiating systemic therapy to decide the suitable therapeutic option.

Psoriasis has been observed to be related to cerebrocardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, end-stage renal disease, chronic rhinosinusitis, endometriosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and may also be related to hypothyroidism, endometriosis, gut inflammation, which needs further investigations.

Therapeutic options that optimally regulate the development of systemic inflammatory disorders must be considered. In psoriasis, TNF-α or IL-23 are up-streamed, while IL-17 is downstream.

Various biologic options are now known, whose systemic organ influences are to be elucidated in further trials. Since psoriasis strongly triggers systemic inflammatory disorders, there might be unidentified organ consequences; hence, further investigation is needed to clarify these impacts.
