Mansukh Mandaviya: The Government is committed to Strengthening the Digital Health System

India has initiated a digital transformation under Ayushmann Bharat Digital Mission with a focus on creating electronic health records for more than 1.3 billion people in India. Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya at the World Economic Forum Annual Meet, stated that 220 million unique Health IDs along with health facilities and provider registry have already been issued.  

Stressing the need to strengthen Equitable Vaccine Manufacturing Collaborative, he added that digital health is an enabler to Universal Health coverage and sustainable development that can ensure accessible and affordable health service delivery. He further stated that by using digital interventions for National Programme Management, India has achieved the monumental task of administering more than 1.92 billion vaccines. 

Under the vaccine Maitri, the nation has also provided vaccines to 100 countries along with life-saving drugs to 150 countries, he attributed this achievement to the COWIN platform and further explained that India has provided this digital platform to the world as a global public good.
