Anti thyroid drugs in first trimester may not be safe

Anti thyroid drugs exposure during the first trimester is associated with significantly increased risk for congenital malformations, particularly for pregnancies in which women received prescriptions for MMI [methimazole] or both ATDs" (MMI or propylthiouracil [PTU]) as per an online study in Annals of Internal Medicine.
