After 3 months, medical students of Bengal who have returned from Ukraine have resumed their physical classes at Government Medical colleges. While a nod for admission of these students in Indian Medical colleges is under consideration, the state Government has allowed 394 Ukraine returned students to undergo ‘Observership’ at multiple medical colleges across the state along with permissions to attend lectures and practical classes. However, they are not allowed to perform practical classes by themselves.

Souhardya Majumdar, a Ukraine returned medical student stated that it is a start in the right direction as the students were getting frustrated about their future. He also added that the Central Government should recognize these efforts and provide such students with full-fledged admission. Another student stated that the authorities are maintaining a separate register for them. They are allowed to attend classes for 1 month but there are chances that it may be extended.
