India has handed over 3.3 tons of medical supplies to a free pre-hospital care ambulance service in Sri Lanka launched in 2016 to assist in fighting against COVID 19. This handover was a part of SLR 370 MN medical aid promised by India over the last 2 months.

In 2016, the Suwa Seriya Ambulance service was launched after a grant of 7.6 USD from India. India also provided free ambulance services that played an instrumental role in the fight against COVID 19. Last week, India donated a humanitarian consignment of more than 25 tons of medical supplies and Kerosene, to run the vital lifelines smoothly.
