US-based Healthcare company offering virtual care “Carbon Health” has laid off 250 people (8%) of its workforce. Carbon Health is a modern Healthcare clinic combined with the latest technology aimed to deliver a personalized experience with virtual and in-person appointments, primary care, urgent care and mental healthcare. 

Eren Bali, CEO, of Carbon Health stated that decisions like this are difficult, but given the external factors including the capital markets, it was the best possible decision in favor of patients, customers, partners, investors etc. He also added that while COVID is entering a new phase, COVID specific businesses and associated markets are winding down, however, the situation is set to get worse with the drying up of funds and a looming recession on the horizon.
