The Nashik Health department has sounded an alert to keep a close watch on surging COVID 19 clusters and has asked the associated machinery to take preventive measures. The number of fresh cases is at a three-month high in some of the important cities, with Nashik reporting a positivity rate of 0.6%.

Dr. Kapil Aher, District Health Officer stated that the healthcare workers have been asked to keep a close watch and to sound alert if the cases keep on rising. He also added as of now only people who are going for medical procedures are being tested. Hence asymptomatic people are going unnoticed. He clarified that the situation cannot be resolved as people never come to the health system unless they feel unwell. So, the health officials have decided to focus on fresh cases and move them to contain the spread of infection in the area.
