A survey finds that over 30% parents feel that video games and social media had a positive impact on kids' mental health

A recent survey showed that almost 40% of parents believed video games positively benefitted their childrens mental health, while 30% of parents worldwide believe social media has a favorable impact on their childrens mental health (28 per cent). Around 27% of parents were of the view that virtual learning has had a good impact on their children.

In the fourth edition of the study, over 3,100 parents from the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, China, and India took part. For their mental health, 88% felt that greater physical fitness activities are needed. 86% of parents agreed that schools should partner with a health and meditation service provider. According to the poll reports, about 80% of parents were of the view that the amount of online or virtual learning should be reduced in schools.

The Pearson Global Learners Survey showed that 92% of parents feel that schools should provide free mental health services to students and school staff, while 53% believe that children should be introduced to wellness and mental health awareness in elementary school. Only 26% of parents said that their childrens schools provide direct mental health support to students and parents. (ETHealthWorld, June 06, 2022)
