Kerala sees a surge of more than 2000 Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day

Kerala saw a surge of more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.

2,471 new Covid-19 infections were recorded in the state, with Ernakulamleading the list with 750 instances on a single day, and 356 cases were documented in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam documented 296 instances and Kozhikode recorded 251 fresh infections o Friday.

The number of active cases in the state has risen to 12,438, with 69,830 deaths documented as a result of Covid-19. With 4,087) active cases Ernakulam recorded the maximum infections, while 2,371 active cases were documented in Thiruvananthapuram, and 1,389 cases in Kottayam and Kozhikode recorded1, 149 active cases.

17,884 positive cases and 83 deaths owing to Covid-19 infection were documented in the state in the past 10 days. The present total tally of infections since the start of the pandemic in Kerala touched 65,76,137. (ETHealthWorld, 11 June 2022)
