e-Rupi, a part of the Ayushman Bharat scheme will be implemented in two centers i.e., JIPMER Puducherry and PIGMER Chandigarh. Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGFI stated that the e-Rupi model of digital payment will be used to assess the degree of expenditure on investigation/test and treatment. He added that the idea is to understand the cost-benefit and the investigation being done.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana provides medical insurance up to Rs 5 lakhs per family unit to eligible beneficiaries in all public sector hospitals. PIGMER has signed the memorandum of understanding with the National Health Agency for the implementation of the scheme. Meanwhile, for the treatment purpose, 1,395 packages have been identified and rates have been approved for claim reimbursement.
