Maharashtra: Medical Panel Opposes State

Members of the Indian Medical Association in Maharashtra have opposed the amendments recommended by the state to the nursing house registration rules. The IMA members have called the amendments impractical to comply with. 

The notification for the amendments was released in January 2021 following which several objections have been notified from time to time. The recommended amendments to the Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration (Amendments) Rule, 2021 were the increased registration charges for Grade A and B nursing homes, and additional charges for beds in a nursing home having more than five beds in rural areas, etc.
