  • The precision medicine approach has the potential to improve positive health outcomes while reducing unnecessary side effects and costs, but it needs a considerably improved understanding of diabetic kidney disease.
  • The five-compartment model aims to inform the selection of pre-clinical models to identify and validate candidates for clinical testing and for designing clinical trials with selection criteria and efficacy assessments providing early evidence of clinical benefits in patients with diabetic kidney disease.
