Union Health Minister stresses the priority of Nation's health

On the occasion of National Doctors′ Day on Friday Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that Nation’s health was of utmost importance. He complimented the medical community′s selfless service and stated that as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate India′s 75th year of independence, the government is also honouring medical community stalwarts who are above 75 years old.

Doctors′ Day is celebrated in the honour of renowned physician and former West Bengal chief minister Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birthday and passing anniversary fall on July 1.

Mandaviya emphasized that our efforts need to be directed towards the country′s advancement and said that the Nation should always come first. Additionally, he exhorted all healthcare workers and other stakeholders to work tirelessly to meet goals like ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ and leprosy eradication in the nation. In order to achieve the overall goals of affordability, availability, accessibility, and quality of health services through long-term synergy, the government has been working with all stakeholders to establish a holistic health ecosystem, according to the statement.
