A female doctor (28) from Prayagraj allegedly committed suicide. The doctor was pursuing a post-graduate (PG) diploma course in radiology at LLRM Medical College in Meerut.

On Tuesday, after failing to contact the doctor, the deceased’s husband called her colleagues to enquire about her. Further, the deceased’s colleague contacted some of the doctors at the girls’ hostel to check on her. When the hostellers went to the deceased’s room, they found the door locked from the inside. They broke open the door, only to find her body hanging by a rope.

Mr. Sant Singh, SHO, Medical college police station stated that her fellow doctors found her hanging by a rope in her hostel room and reported the incident to the police. The SHO added that the body has been sent for post-mortem and they are yet to determine the cause of the suicide. The SHO also added that they have not received any formal complaint from the doctors’ family.
