According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), heart diseases are the leading cause of death, accounting for 17.9 million lives every year. Even while cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks are common in older people, several symptoms like chest tightness and a burning sensation are frequently misunderstood or ignored. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), increasing age, gender, hereditary factors, and lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking, and substance abuse, along with underlying health conditions like high blood cholesterol and hypertension, are major risk factors for a heart attack. Additionally, leading a sedentary lifestyle, being obese or overweight, and increasing stress can lead to a higher risk of heart attack.

According to the AHA, the majority of heart attacks are characterized by prolonged discomfort in the middle of the chest, including pressures that feel uncomfortable, compression of fullness, or aches. However, indigestion is characterized by a burning chest pain that begins at the breast bone. Heart attacks can also cause light-headedness, nausea, and vomiting because, during a heart attack, the heart finds it difficult to pump sufficient blood and oxygen to different parts of the body. This leads to a decline in the pH levels of the stomach, causing several gastrointestinal issues. Lastly, it is important to eat healthy and indulge in balanced nutrition, along with a regular exercise regime to improve heart health and promote longevity.
