Telangana High Court Orders to Relocate Medical Students

Telangana High Court has come to the rescue of the students of private medical colleges, whose admission had been canceled by the National Medical Commission (NMC) citing deficiencies in the infrastructure.

Students from MMR and Mahavir Medical College should be relocated to other medical colleges in Telangana within four weeks, According to the division bench of the Telangana High Court. The Division Bench has directed the state Government and the Kalogi Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences to relocate the students. According to the directive, seats will be distributed after considering the pre-existing infrastructures in the medical institutions to which students will be relocated. Similarly, PG seats will be distributed equally among the respective departments of the medical institutions. Based on the directive, the NMC has decided that the petitioner students will be transferred based on their merit rank.
