With the aim to improve transparency and good governance, the health ministry has directed all central government hospitals to go paperless. The offices have been instructed to use E-office and save digital copies of all the files. The health ministry is also planning special training sessions to implement the directive.

An official from the central government said that “It has been decided that all new files will be accepted in the physical mode and all sections are required to submit these files through e-office only.”

Along with central government hospitals such as AIIMS, RML Hospital, and Safdarjung Hospital, the health ministry, and its allied institutions are also anticipated to move to paperless mode from July 1. The efforts are meant to ensure transparency and efficiency in the healthcare system. Digitization of records will offer long-term support to the system.
