In partnership with the Indian Society of Nephrology (ISN), AstraZeneca India announced the opening of their Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) academy. In order to help professionals improve care for kidney patients, this academy will provide module-based learning.

AstraZeneca and ISN hope to assist clinicians and healthcare professionals in giving their patients comprehensive kidney care through this program. Both organizations have redoubled their dedication to raising public awareness of kidney health issues and teaching people about strategies to do so.

Dr. A K Bhalla, chairman, Department of Nephrology, Sir Gangaram Hospital, and president of ISN said, “India currently stands at a critical point when it comes to managing Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD). Awareness and early intervention remain the key, but it is equally important for physicians to meet the current quality standards in the care management involving kidney diseases. We are working locally and nationally to deliver accurate health information, address the current burden of CKDs and improve the clinical outcomes for patients.”

Dr. Anil Kukreja, Vice President – Medical Affairs and Regulatory, AstraZeneca India, emphasized that doctors must be educated on the prevention, progression, and management of chronic kidney disorders to minimize the related mortality and morbidity rate in India.

Through three interactive modules, the certificate training course will educate about 1000 primary care physicians on the most recent advancements in CKD. 30 renowned nephrologists from all over the nation will serve as the program′s faculty and will present these modules. All participants will get a certificate of participation upon completion of the three modules, which will be endorsed by AstraZeneca and ISN. (ETHealhWorld, Jul 28, 2022)
