The goal of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of high-energy ablative fractional nanosecond Q-switched 1064 nm laser therapy for acne scars.

This retrospective study included 46 patients between 16 to 69 years of age, of Fitzpatrick skin type range 2 to 4. Each patient received multiple doses of fractional 1064-nm laser.

The treatment conferred improvements in a majority of the patients (75%). No side effects were reported, such as hypo-/hyperpigmentation or scarring. Hence, this technique provided good clinical outcomes with a high patient satisfaction rate related to facial acne scar management, without adverse effects.
