As one of the top gynaecologists in Mumbai, Dr Anahita Pandole gained fame for promoting and preserving fertility among the Parsi population by providing treatments at subsidised rates. Dr Pandole played a key role in formulating and implementing the Jiyo Parsi Programme, a scheme funded by the government for infertile Parsi couples to become parents. A doctor who had been associated with her for over a decade stated that Dr Pandole with the Parzor Foundation lent a helping hand in setting up a database of all Parsis living in India for the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.
According to the quarterly report, in 2022, she treated 18 couples in Mumbai between January and March. Dr Pandole has counselled Parsi youth and their families on early marriage, the correct time of conception, and training volunteers, besides her fertility treatment. Other than being a doctor, she had actively taken part in community service. On several occasions, she has raised her voice against illegal hoarding. For instance, last week she wrote to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to oppose hoardings erected on footpaths along the Western Express Highway, explaining the dangers they pose to motorists.
Dr Tarang Gainchandani, the CEO of HN Reliance Hospital, stated that Dr Pandole and other survivors of the car crash are being evaluated by a team of 20 multi-disciplinary doctors.
