IANS    27 October 2022

On Wednesday, Mr. Sanjay Khatri, the Prayagraj District Magistrate, clarified that the dengue patient was supposedly given "poorly kept" platelets that look similar to mosambi juice. Last week, a 32-year-old man died at a private hospital after receiving a transfusion of "mosambi" (sweet lime) juice.

The Prayagraj police have arrested ten accused involved in the fake platelet racket.

So far, the district administration has maintained a measured silence on the matter. In the meantime, the state government had sealed the private hospital and released a notice for its demolition.
