In Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, a 20-year-old HIV-positive woman was allegedly left unattended at a medical college for over six hours as the hospital staff "refused to touch her." On Tuesday, the woman went into early labor but later gave birth to a pre-term boy. The family of the woman alleged that the delay in prenatal treatment resulted in the death of the baby.

The family of the victim claimed that the doctors in the private hospital asked them to pay Rs. 20,000 for normal delivery. However, they could not afford that much money. As a result, they reached out to the district field officer of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). who then referred them to the medical college.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Sarita Yadav, a NACO field officer, stated that she called the family to the medical college as they were not able to afford the fee. But no doctor or hospital staffer came near the victim, even after he requested medical assistance for hours.
