On Tuesday, in the 15th edition of CPHI & PMEC, the CEOs of companies, including those from RPG Life Science and Fermenta Biotech, discussed ways to shift the focus of the domestic industry from volume to value.

In the roundtable meeting, the leaders opined that the central government needs to set up a separate ministry for the pharma sector to encourage domestic producers and decrease Chinese imports into the country. The leaders also pointed out the need to reduce dependency on China by using technology while discussing the challenges faced by the pharma sector.

Dr. Vivek Sehgal, Director General of the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), stated that the pharma industry needs to collaborate and work collectively on IPR-related issues.
