ACIP 2018 Child and Adolescent Vaccine Schedule

Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)


  1. In the 2018 schedule for hepatitis B: be administered within 24 hours for infants with a birth weight of more than 2000g who are born to mothers that are negative for hepatitis B surface antigen.
  2. MMR: The 2018 MMR schedule offers new guidance regarding use of a third dose of mumps-containing vaccine during a mumps outbreak.
  3.  Live-attenuated influenza vaccine is not recommended for the 2017-2018 influenza season.
  4. In the pneumococcal row, stippling was added to heart disease/chronic lung disease, chronic liver disease, and diabetes columns to clarify that children with these conditions may be recommended an additional dose of vaccine, in some situations.
