On Thursday, state health officials from Bihar stated that random COVID tests will be conducted at airports, railway stations, and bus stands, conforming to the center’s advisory. On Wednesday, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Dr. Pratyay Amrit, convened a meeting of senior officers, including doctors of microbiology from IGIMS and the World Health Organization, regarding the COVID situation.

He asked the officials to conduct random tests to ensure that no new COVID-19 variant had appeared in patients. He also issued an advisory directing mall, shopping center, and cinema hall authorities to follow COVID protocols.

He guided officials to conduct rapid antigen tests (RAT) at airports, railway stations, and bus stands and send the suspected cases to hospitals for RT-PCR tests and genome sequencing.
