RegenOrthoSport has obtained all necessary regulatory approvals from the National Ethics Committee Registry for Biomedical and Health Research (NECRBHR) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for carrying out therapies involving the use of an amalgam of autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on patients who have musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). Additionally, the Institutional Ethics Committee of the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi, has granted it the necessary clearances.

These recommendations open the door for less invasive treatments using the Autologous BMAC-PRP combo method on MSD patients suffering from sports injuries, arthritis, ligament tears, sprains, and strains.

The mission of RegenOrthoSport, according to Dr. Venkatesh Movva, MD, Sports Medicine, and Founder, is to combine PRP with homogeneous, high-quality, and verified Bone Marrow-Mesenchymal Stem Cells (BM-MSC) for MSD patients. They are confident that the therapeutic effects of these regimens will promote tissue regeneration, repair, and inflammation reduction.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi Venkateshan, Research Director, RegenOrthoSport (Former scientist G, NIN - ICMR), reported that the company created a full-fledged R&D center after signing an MoU with Atul Incubator/CCMB Biotechnology Center last year. The effectiveness of PRP combined with BM-MSC and P-MSC from the placenta has been investigated in pre-clinical systems. Significant advancements have been made in the characterization, cryopreservation, and functional evaluation of MSCs. They will initiate protocols on the pre-clinical model systems in the following phase to test the theory. The necessary regulatory permissions from IC-SCR and IAEC have already been acquired for this effort.
